C# - A Musical History!


In music, the symbol # is placed after the name of a note in the key signature, or before a note on the staff to indicate that the note is to be played a semitone higher.



C# was initially called COOL for C-like Object Oriented Language. It was renamed C# because it is a step above C/C++

· # (sharp) means a semi-tone above in music

· can also be viewed as a stacked 4 pluses so C++++
